Hi {!firstname}, Welcome to the fourth lesson in the 5-part ecourse, Step-by-Step Fire Sale Marketing. I hope you've learned something you can use to make your fire sale as successful as it can be. So far we've talked about using lists (yours and others) to bring customers to your site. But there's another method that offline businesses have used effectively for years - advertising. Advertising comes in many forms, from free to really expensive, and the first thing you need to decide is which type of advertising is right for you. Do you have cash to spend? If you have experience with pay per click advertising, set up a campaign to drive highly targeted traffic to your site. You can also buy ad space on other websites, in newsletters, through other ad networks, or even on FaceBook. If you don't have cash to spend, there are still some ways to get great advertising. Craig's List has a huge network of classified advertising sites that get millions of visitors daily, and it's free to place an ad. The only drawback is, you have to place them individually by city. For maximum effectiveness, target big cities like New York and Chicago, and leave the smaller markets alone. Ebay Classifieds is another free listing service. Like Craig's List, Ebay Classifieds are also geographically targeted. One more free advertising option is to do an ad swap. Similar to a joint venture, an ad swap means that you contract with another marketer to place your ad on his or her site or in his newsletter. In return, you do the same for him. Very simple, yet very effective. In the last lesson, we're going to talk about the number one way to get the most exposure for your fire sale. It will cost you a little cash – not much – but the return can be phenomenal. Stay tuned! Until next time, [SIGNATURE AND LINK] P.S. Have you got your fire sale all planned out and ready to launch?
